![]() The city museum as a kid was the single greatest thing you could ever imagine. Louis and moved away when I was 19, but I’ve came back to visit quite a bit over the years. StL has a lot of gems, you just have to dig a bit deeper for it. Hopefully what I said is still true, and better to boot. Seriously.ĭisclaimer: Haven’t lived in the city in 10 years, but have been back a lot (pre-pandemic). Get Blues City Deli, a beer, and eat outside while admiring the red brick in the neighborhood. Paint Louis is an annual event that changes that shit up every year.įood? BBQ…but you knew that already. Like graffiti and rust belt decay? Check out the graffiti on the Floodwall. If you want to experience the majesty that is the Mississippi River with nobody else around, go to the Chain of Rocks bridge. Venice Cafe is one of the most unique bars you’ll find. 4Hands, Perennial, and Urban Chestnut to name a few. Won’t be cheap, but it’s legal, and there’s no chance in hell that STLPD gives a shit or has the resources to care about it.Īnd if y’all like beer…hard to go wrong with breweries. You can buy weed across the river if you’re wanting a dispensary. Don’t sleep on Tower Grove or the Botanical Garden either. Hell, y’all wanna golf? They got that too. Forest Park is easily one of the best urban parks in the country. You don’t need drugs to have fun, but it wouldn’t make it less fun. Place is huge, and the Zoo and Art Museum are free. If anyone has access to LSD or Shrooms…take a day in Forest Park. Or just skip the show and do BBH and PinUp. If y’all like pitchers, darts, memorabilia, and burgers…spend an afternoon or evening at Blueberry Hill. If there are good shows at Pageant/Delmar Hall, get drinks at Moonrise, see a show, then drink at Pinup. On the other two nights…if you could manage a night at the City Museum when it’s an adult night, that’s legit. Don’t have high expectations for downtown (unfortunately). It’s not as bad as you think (it’s arguably the focal point for strippers in the region) but the area is certainly not one you would walk around in. Anyone feeling adventurous and frisky can take the trip to the East Side for strip clubs if they so choose. Bought a pitcher for extra tickets, she didn’t really like beer, I drank most of it, and the rest was history.Īs an StL native, if you want to get weird on a dudes trip in August, I’m guessing one night you’ll probably keep it local to Busch and do Ballpark Village and the like around the night of the game. ![]() Which turtle race?
